Depending on the welding process, material thickness and specifications, chamfering the pipe ends is also part of seam preparation. Depending on the degree of weathering, it may even make sense to rework the factory-fitted chamfer.
The hydraulic Vietz facing machines work with up to four rotating tool holders. This arrangement can be used to create more complex cutting profiles. The process is similar to that on a lathe, but in this case the tool rotates instead of the pipe. The machine supports itself inside the pipe with powerful hydraulic clamping device. The process only takes a few minutes, depending on the condition of the pipe end. Pipe ends produced by flame cutting can also be perfectly prepared for further use in a short time. This type of seam preparation is particularly used for orbital welding processes, but also saves welding consumables and time during manual welding.
For the supply of the facing machine we offer appropriate electro-hydraulic or diesel-hydraulic units.
