However – even more important – the risk of accidents by transporting pipes can be diminished to a minimum. The independent unit VACUVIETZ can be mounted on a crane, a pipe layer or a hydraulic excavator. Due to the changeable suction pads one VACUVIETZ unit handles the total range of all pipe diameters. Depeding on the weight of the pipes to be transported two sizes can bee supplied – 12 tons or 16 tons. The VACUVIETZ unit is fully self-contained and consists of a diesel motor, a vaccum pump as well as a vacuum suction pad – adapted to the form of the product to be lifted. Our VACUVIETZ is operated with radio-control. Therefore it is not necessary to have a cable connection between operator and the unit.
VACUVIETZ not only handles steel pipes – be it coated or uncoated, be it spirally welded or longitudinally welded – but also concrete pipes and concrete plates. VACUVIETZ amortizes shortly, as there is no additional staff required to fix the pipes to be transported at the lifting unit. Particulary in pipeline construction, for stringing of pipes, for front end welding and transporting of pipes in general our VACUVIETZ unit is a real advantage. In pipe factories where the pipes have to be handled after leaving the production line a VACUVIETZ is indispensible. In case of electric power supply the vacuum pump can be also driven by means of a electro motor. A special construction allows to transport five pipes at the same time.
The use of pipe chaines increases the risk of damaging the pipe edges. This results in an increase of repair works on job site to remove the pipe damages.
