In order to weld pipes on site, these must be centred.
There are various centring devices for this purpose:
• External line-up clamps, mechanical and hydraulic
• Internal line-up clamps, hydraulic and pneumatic
• Hydraulic internal centring devices for large pipes with a diameter as from 2.000 mm
VIETZ manufactures all the variations especially for you.
The hydraulic internal centring devices from VIETZ are constructed according to the same principle as the pneumatic ones. They can be operated with a hydraulic hand pump as well as with an electro-hydraulic power pack. We manufacture hydraulic internal centring devices up to a pipe dimension of 24“.
Pneumatic internal centring devices can be used in any terrain.
The compressed-air drive ensures that the centring device moves in the pipe. Additionally fitted brakes prevent the centring device from moving through the pipe uncontrolled as a result of its own weight. Another design feature of the pneumatic internal centring device is the copper backing for the MAG orbital welding process.
For large pipes as from Ø 2,000 mm upwards, we have developed a special design in order to centre these pipes as well. Two or four hydraulic cylinders which are controlled separately using an electro-hydraulic power pack ensure that the edge misalignment is rectified from the inside.
